Art Direction, Creative concept & Packaging Design
Kærgården, known for its soft, spreadable butter blend, was exploring a new product idea: liquid Kærgården — a pourable version for cooking and frying. Based on this brief, I developed packaging concepts for the Danish market that connected the product’s practicality with Kærgården’s warm, human brand tone. Two versions were created. The first concept built on Kærgården’s existing packaging — adding a playful label reading “et kærligt klem” (“a loving squeeze”), emphasizing the emotional simplicity that defines the brand. The second version introduced a more sustainable angle: packaging paired with a small bag of cress seeds, encouraging consumers to reuse the empty container. The cress could then be enjoyed on an omelet fried in liquid Kærgården — completing the circle from product to experience.

The design direction focused on balance — keeping the iconic Kærgården look while introducing fresh, modern cues. Typography and tone remain soft and familiar, while the material palette and details communicate renewal and everyday sustainability. Together, the concepts show how design can extend brand storytelling — from the shelf into the home.
